What is high pressure die casting?
Die casting is the process that molten metal is injected into a mold under high pressure in the range of 10 – 210 Mpa.
This injection processwill result in a highly uniformed casting shape with very smooth surface effect and high accuracy dimension in size. Normally this can either greatly reduce or eliminate the following machining process required to finish the component.
Allwell Cast can offer both cold chamber and hot chamber procedures. During the cold chamber process, the metal is ladled into the injection chamber in each shot. So there will be less exposure of the molten metal to the chamber walls and plunger, which is very useful for aluminum and copper die casting because they would easily alloy with iron in the very high temperatures.
The hot chamber process is that the injection chamber connected to the die cavity permanently immerse in the molten metal. The hot chamber process is used for metals of low melting point and high fluidity such as tin and zinc.
The materials that Allwell Cast can offer are alloys of aluminum, zinc and magnesium. Zinc die castings can be made with thinner wall thickness with thin wall technology than aluminum due to its high melt fluidity.
We can produce parts from very small 2g up to about 20 kg (44 lbs ) for aluminum, 10 kg ( 22 lbs ) for magnesium, and 20 kg ( 44 lbs ) for zinc.
